The Tony Welsh CAT77 Neutering and Rehabilitation Scheme
CAT77 is delighted and proud to announce a generous legacy from the estate of the late Tony Welsh, a life-long cat lover who wished part of his estate to be used to help feral and stray cats in the UK.
These funds have been donated to CAT77 specifically to fund selected neutering programmes nationwide and is set to run over the next two years. In honour of Tony’s memory, the scheme now bears his name.
During his life he donated generously to several charities, and among his passions were his beloved cats Layla, Millie, and Snowflake. Born in the UK, Tony lived in the USA for many years. While living in Houston, Texas, he fed and cared for feral cats near his home.
Among Tony’s favourite sayings is this from Mark Twain: “When a man loves cats, I am his friend and comrade without further introduction.”
We are also very grateful to Tony’s friend and executor for his interest in and support of the scheme. Altogether, eight charities have benefited from Tony’s legacy: three feline charities (including CAT77), two other UK based, and three overseas charitable organisations.
